Welcome to the BURRO

We are the Rotary Club of Burleson, Texas, USA. Dedicated to the Rotary philosophy of Service Above Self, we seek to improve our community and our world through Rotary service. Since 1980 our club has worked to improve lives and communities.

The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands

This is the theme selected by RI President John Kenny to direct the focus of his year as leader of the organization. This theme will be reflected in projects and activities throughout Rotary International during Rotary Year 2009-2010.

A New Rotary Club is born

The Burleson Rotary Club is sponsoring the establishment of a new club in our city. The Burleson Area Midday Rotary Club is meeting every Monday at noon at the Hampton Inn. The inn is located on Jake Court, off Alsbury Boulevard, one block east of Interstate 35W.

Membership in the new club is growing, and the goal is to qualify for a club charter in February. Rotary celebrates the anniversary of its founding on February 23, and the Burleson Area Midday Club hopes to have its own anniversary coincide with that celebration.

International Service

International Service connects Burleson Rotarians with the needs of our world. From locations as near as Mexico to as far as Perth, Western Australia, Burleson Rotarians work to help others. Ethiopian school children need sports fields, and Burleson Rotarians intend to help.

Service to Youth

Rotary commits significant resources to young persons. Burleson Rotarians donate dictionaries to elementary school students, part of the Dictionaries for Third Graders project. Other youth oriented projects include:.

Young people of all ages benefit from Rotary's war on polio. Along with the World Health Organization, and supported by grants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and contributions from Rotarians worldwide, Rotary works to eliminate polio. The end is near! Can you help?

Burleson Rotary awards scholarships to graduating seniors every year. Funding these scholarships are subscriptions to the club's Flags for Scholars project.
